“Outrage over recent kidnappings, assaults,
and killings of defenceless Christians”

The Universal Christian Church of the New Jerusalem voices her outrage at yet another recent kidnapping of Christians in Nigeria, following similar incidents that culminated in brutal killings and abuses committed against defenceless Christians solely because of the religion they profess.

The list of attacks and murders of Christians worldwide continues to grow at an ever-increasing rate. This is akin to a silent, unstoppable war bulletin, as evidenced by some of the most striking events reported by the media in the past few months: in Nigeria in September, October, and November; in Cameroon and Bangladesh in November; in Congo and Mozambique in October; in Niger and Pakistan in September.

Therefore, while offering her condolences for the victims and her spiritual closeness in prayer to the families and religious communities hurt by these events, the Church once again issues a heartfelt appeal to civil Institutions and International Government Authorities to put an end to these brutal attacks and to guarantee religious freedom in every Country in the world.
