Gospel: Matthew, Chapter 24, verses 37-51
Homily of the Pontiff Samuel

In the time of the return of Noah,
who benefits from celebrating the Coredemptrix
and who does not?

(Draft)

Let us meditate today on a very profound page of the Gospel that is deeply eschatological and highly relevant. Jesus speaks to us about His Return (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, ‘The Return of Jesus’ 30 Oct. 1994) and tells us about the times that will mark His Return. He gives us all the example of Noah, when – the only time in history – God repented (Gen 6:6) of having made man. He sent the Flood and destroyed that generation, that humanity, completely (Gen 7:23).

And then He said, “I regret’ (Gen 6:7) and everything began again (Gen 8). This brings us to the pivotal moment when the Father started afresh (Gen 9:1). The same will happen at the coming of the Son of Man (Mt 24:30).

Therefore, we understand that these times will be, and are, difficult times, times of darkness, times of apostasy, where many, instead of listening to the voice of God’s Envoy, continue to revel, get drunk and do what is evil in the eyes of God (Rom 1:28-32), as if nothing was happening. This is what happened then, and this is what is happening now, because the Child Jesus has returned, Here, as He promised, as it is written (Jn 14:2-3), in the modalities written in the Book of Books (Acts 1:11). The Maiden of God lived to announce to everyone that this is the Place of the Fulfilment of God’s Promises, that this is the New Jerusalem, the metaphysical Dwelling Place (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, ‘The Dwelling Place established by Jesus’ 09 Mar. 1997), the Fulfilment of the Scriptures (Rev 21:2).

How did they respond to this invitation? Many mocked Her. Many others accepted the invitation. And blessed are those who have remained faithful on this long journey, which has been travelled in the meantime allowing us to be here and continue to live those promises that have been fulfilled,  these words read today that have been fulfilled (Heb 10:23) and that will be fulfilled in the fullness of time, when God’s holy people will be called to return to that Garden (Gen 2:8) to begin history anew (Rev 22:1-3): the end of evil and the beginning of a new history (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “The Year One of the New Era”, 31 Dec 1994) which was in the Father’s Mind when He created Adam, and from Adam He drew Eve (Gen 2:21-23), so that everyone could already live that harmony of Heaven (Rev 21:4) where God walked among them and there was no mourning, no crying, no death, no anxiety, because everything was in wonderful and perfect harmony (Gen 2). We will return to those times. However, in order to reach those times, we must remain anchored to the Word of Jesus and remain faithful to everything that the Scripture invites us to follow.

This rich passage from the Gospel, in its final part, also gives us the example of the two servants whose behaviour determines what will happen to those who are to be fed (Mt 24:45-51) by those two servants. Here is the example: the good one and the unfaithful one, whom the master, the Father, has placed there so that His sons may be fed: the good, faithful, truthful servant feeds his sons, giving them holy words and keeping them faithful to all that the Father has given them over time (Jn 17:8); compared to the other servant, who thinks that the master may be delayed in coming – “Who knows when he will come?”, ‘the Lord will return, but who knows when?’, in the meantime he becomes corrupt and corrupts all those who listen to him, who instead of being nourished by the good Bread (Jn 6:35), are nourished by a sweetened bread that no longer satisfies, but on the contrary leads to ruin (2Tim 4:3-4).

How can we distinguish the good servant from the unfaithful servant? Mary comes to our aid, She who is the epitome of the Handmaid, the Servant of the Lord (Lk 1:38). If we look to Mary, we can understand how we should behave and therefore avoid erring. Mary is the privileged Way (Act of Magisterium, “Mary, the Holy Door of the sons of God”, 24 Dec 2024) to fully accomplish the Will of the Father (Lk 1:46-48). This is how Mary responded to the Angel. And pay close attention to the words the Angel spoke to Her at the Annunciation. He said to Her: ‘Hail, O full of grace, the Lord is with you’ (Lk 1:28). The Angel spoke these words to Her even before the Holy Spirit cast His shadow over Her, which would happen shortly thereafter (Lk 1:35). What does this make us understand? We can acknowledge that Mary was already ‘full of grace’, before that moment, before conceiving the Son of God, because the Grace is innate in Mary.

It is a great Mystery, dear brothers, but it is a Mystery that we must now understand if we want to reach the end and win.

We must not backtrack, but we must move forward to bring everything to completion. Why do I say we must not backtrack? Because it is very recent news that the Church of Rome has undersigned a ‘doctrinal note’, by the hand of its highest authority – therefore making it his own – which states that it is ‘“inconvenient”’ to name Mary as Coredemptrix and Mediatrix of all graces (Church of Rome, Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, ‘Mater Populi Fidelis’ [Mother of the Faithful People], 04 Nov. 2025). “Inconvenient, they said”.

So, let us linger for a moment on this term: “inconvenience”. Who benefits from Mary being the Coredemptrix and Mediatrix of all graces, and who doesn’t? It is convenient for some, and it is inconvenient for others. It is certainly convenient for the Saints (cf. Rev 14:12) and for the Fathers of the Church, who have openly adhered to this doctrine throughout history with compelling continuity, acknowledging Mary as Mediatrix of graces, of all graces, and acknowledging Mary as Coredemptrix. This is what the saints and the Fathers of the Church, have done. I can cite a few of them, although I would like to name them all.

Let us start with St. Francis, a Saint very dear to my heart. At a certain point, while praying to Mary, he says: “Hail, O Lady, Holy Queen, Holy Mother of God, Mary, who art a Virgin made Church and chosen by the Most Holy Heavenly Father, Who consecrated Thee together with His Most Holy Beloved Son and with the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete; Thou in whom was and is all fullness of grace and all good. Hail, His palace; hail, His tabernacle; hail, His home. Hail, His garment; hail, His handmaid; hail, His Mother. And I greet you all, holy virtues, that by the grace and illumination of the Holy Spirit are infused into the hearts of the faithful, so that from being unfaithful, you may make them faithful to God”. (St. Francis of Assisi, “Salutation to the Blessed Virgin Mary,” 1220-1224). And he closes with the “Glory Be”. This is what we would like to hear from those who must confirm in faith, their children. This is what is “convenient” to hear and put into practice. But there are many other saints worthy of mention. If you have patience, I will continue.

St. Bernard said: “The angel waits for the answer. We too wait, O our Lady, the word of mercy. We who are miserably oppressed by the sentence of condemnation. And behold, the price of salvation is offered to you: we shall be freed immediately if you consent” (St. Bernard, Sermon 4, Treatise on the Incarnation Called “Missus Est” [The Angel was sent from above”] 1135-1140). “If you consent” means “if Mary consents”.

Saint Alphonsus Maria de’ Liguori: The Most Holy Humanity of the Word comes from Mary through the work of the Holy Spirit. The Virgin Mary is the means by which our Lord came to us. She is also the means we must use to go to Him (St. Alphonsus Maria de’ Liguori, The Glories of Mary, chap. V: “On the Necessity of Mary’s Intercession for Our Salvation,” 1750). “The Way” we must use to go to Jesus, our Lord: we cannot go to Jesus without Mary (Act of Magisterium, “The privileged Way to attain Salvation” 15 Aug. 2023).

Saint Bernardino of Siena said: “No one in the world knew Jesus as she did, and no one in the world can be a better guide to help us to know Jesus, hence no one can replace her in uniting men to Jesus. A proof all too evident is given to us by the conduct of those men who, alas, by their behaviour, those men who, seduced by the devil’s artifices or deceived by false doctrines, believe they can do without the help of the Virgin Mary. Wretched people who neglect Mary under the pretext of honouring Jesus! They don’t know that the Son cannot be found except through his Mother” (St. Bernardino of Siena, “Sermo de Nativitate Beatae Mariae Virginis” [Sermon on the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary] 1432-1440). What, then, can be said today to those “wretches ones” as St. Bernardino of Siena calls them, who consider all this “inappropriate”?

Then, if it pleases you, we can talk about Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, one of the greatest devotees of Mary: “No heavenly gift is given to men unless it passes through her virginal hands. This is the will of God, who has decreed that we have all things through Mary, for by becoming poor and humble and hiding herself in the depths of nothingness for her whole life, she has been enriched, exalted, and honoured by the Almighty God. This is the standpoint of the Church and of the early Fathers” (St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, “Treatise on the true devotion to Mary”, 1712). And this passage was later taken up by a Pope who praised and made these words his own. We will see this later [Pius XII, canonisation rite of St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, 20 July 1947; Acta Apostolicae Sedis [Acts of the Apostolic See], Year 1942, Vol. 34, p. 44 (AAS, Vol. 34, 1942, p. 44)].

Then there is St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, another great devotee of Mary, who says: “From the very first moment, from that moment – and he quotes Genesis 3:15, when Mary would have crushed the head of the ancient serpent with Her heel and Her offspring – from that moment God promises a Redeemer and a Coredemptrix, saying: ‘I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your seed and her seed. She will crush your head'” (St. Maximilian M. Kolbe, Writings, 1937–1941). Clear, precise, and straight to the point.

Saint Edith Stein, a Jewish convert to Christianity, in the last century said: “Mary transcends the natural order and sets herself as Coredemptrix alongside the Redeemer” (Saint Edith Stein, “Woman. Her task according to nature and grace,” 1931–1932). Saint Lawrence of Brindisi said: “O Queen of Heaven, O wonder, O marvel! Mary Immaculate is such a great Queen that her kingdom is the very Kingdom of God and her empire the very empire of Christ!” (St. Lawrence of Brindisi, “Sermones de Immaculata Conceptione et de Beata Virgine Maria Regina, [Sermon on the Immaculate Conception and the Blessed Virgin Queen Mary]” 1608–1615). Then there is the Blessed Cardinal Schuster, Archbishop of Milan, who speaks of the Coredemptrix of the human race (Blessed Alfredo Ildefonso Schuster, “Homily for the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows,” in Discorsi e Panegirici [Discourses and Panegyrics], 1946); Mother Teresa (born Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu), who on 14 August 1993 said: “The papal definition of Mary as ‘Mediatrix, Coredemptrix and Advocate’ will bring great graces to the Church” (Mother Teresa, “Letter to the Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici Movement,” 14 Aug. 1993 in Miravalle M., With Jesus: The Story of Mary Coredemptrix, 2003). Then there is Blessed Bartolo Longo, who is well known for his devotion to the Holy Rosary; St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows; St. Luigi Orione, founder of the Little religious Institute of Divine Providence; St. Veronica Giuliani; St. Frances Cabrini, founder of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; Blessed James Alberione, founder of the Pauline Editions; the servant of God and seer Luisa Piccarreta; St. Leopold Mandić, who even made an act of total self-offering for the reconciliation of the schism with the East in homage to the Coredemptrix of the human race; St. John Henry Newman, another convert to Catholicism from Anglicanism, who became a cardinal and, just think, was named Doctor of the Church of Rome on 1 November, by whom? By the one who signed the ‘doctrinal note’ we are just discussing. And this saint had worked hard with his congregants at the time, saying that it was appropriate for them to accept the Dogma, the title of Mary Coredemptrix (Newman J. H., Letter to the Rev. E.B. Pusey on his recent Eirenicon, 1866).

Read these writings; they are edifying for the spirit.

Turning to more recent times, there is Sister Lucia of Fatima, who spoke repeatedly about the Coredemptrix. Padre Pio (‘Father Pius’) said, “Our dear Coredemptrix” (Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, “Letter from Padre Pio to Father Benedetto of San Marco in Lamis,” 1 May 1913), and also said: “Mary is our Coredemptrix because she gave us the Redeemer and offered her Son to the Father on Calvary” (Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, “Epistolary IV”, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina Editions, San Giovanni Rotondo, 2002).

Here are the Saints united with the Fathers of the Church. I will quote just one of them: Saint Ephrem the Syrian, who lived in the fourth century and whom Benedict XV elevated to the title of Doctor of the Church. In his Hymns to the Virgin Mary, he writes: “I looked in wonder at Mary nursing Him who nourishes all peoples, yet He became a child. He who fills the world dwelt in the womb of a maiden. A daughter of the poor became the mother of the Richest, who allowed Himself to be carried by love. There is fire in the Virgin’s bosom, but the Virgin is not consumed by that flame. A burning coal embraced Mary; she carries Him in her arms and is not harmed. The flame dresses the body and is carried on Mary’s hands. A great sun gathered and hid in a splendid cloud. A maiden became the mother of He who created man and the world” (St. Ephrem the Syrian, Hymns on the Nativity, XI 6-8).

Here are the prophets. And here, dear brothers, everything is being fulfilled. Prophetic words.

There are also the previous, true Popes, who spoke of “Mary Mediatrix of all Graces” and “Mary Coredemptrix”. Let us review them quickly: Pope Leo XIII – to whom some said we should refer – speaks of “Mary Mediatrix of all graces” several times; Pope Pius IX, who proclaimed the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception on 8 December 1854 (Pius IX, “Bulla Ineffabilis Deus” [Papal Letter “Ineffable God”], 08 Dec. 1854); Benedict XV, who says that Mary’s authority over her Son is such that whatever grace He bestows on men, she grants the distribution and allocation of it (Benedict XV, “Apostolic Letter Inter Sodalicia,” 22 Mar 1918); Pius X, who spoke of “ Coredemptrix of the human race” (Pius X, “Encyclical Ad diem illum laetissimum”, [A quel giorno, il più lieto] 2 Feb. 1904); Pius XI, who spoke of “Coredemptrix”; Pius XII, who on November 1, 1950, proclaimed the Dogma of the Assumption (Pius XII, “Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus” [Apostolic Constitution Most Merciful God] November 1, 1950). To end on a high note, John Paul II. This is to clarify that we didn’t stop at the pre-Council, but moved forward, even though those who convened the Council didn’t make the right choice, not doing God’s Will but their own. This is the damage that resulted. However, after Pope Paul VI, came John Paul I who atoned for those errors with his life. Then came John Paul II, who may have made mistakes – mistakes that can be made on the path to holiness – but he was a great saint, as it may be said. And he often stated, more than ten times during his pontificate, about Mary Coredemptrix.

All of them. Then came Benedict XVI, who suspended this judgement. But no one had ever dared to deny Mary Coredemptrix. Only two have dared to do so: those who came after Benedict XVI. Are they true popes? This is the question that many should ask themselves. Why? Because this is not understood… (Mt 24:5); then their appointments – the current pope would be neither bishop nor pope if his predecessor had not appointed him. So we are racking our brains over the words of these people. Who are they? Who called them to that ministry? The Holy Spirit? This is a question I would like to ask those who agonise over commenting on individual words: “but he didn’t say that She isn’t”; “actually the judgement has been suspended…” But they didn’t suspend judgement. They clearly said, ‘It is inconvenient”.

Who finds it inconvenient?  Certainly not the sons of God, as we have just seen, and certainly not you, the faithful of the Mother Church. The Mother Church set sail a long time ago (Lk 8:22). These words are also for the benefit of all those who want to remain Christians; but certainly not for you, dear brothers, because if you are here, you know very well that, for the Mother Church, Mary is Coredemptrix.

The fifth Dogma was proclaimed on 22 December 2019. I invite everyone to read this Dogma of Faith. This is the Pontifical Decree that established it (Pontifical Decree, “In Mary, with Mary, and through Mary” 22 Dec. 2019).

But that is not all, because the Mother Church has gone further in seeking to make the Mystery of Mary fully understood, in the light of the context of the Sacred Scriptures and the aforementioned tradition.

The Sacred Scripture: Genesis 3:15 clearly states that victory will come through Mary. It is not an action that has been completed at the moment the history of Redemption began. Mary, together with her offspring, will crush the ancient serpent forever, casting him down for eternity (Rev 20:10). Revelation 12: here is the war, described in the Book of Revelation, between St. Michael, the Archangels, and the Angels faithful to God who fight against the red dragon, the first beast, and the second beast (Rev 12:7-9; Rev 13:1-18). This is written.

So, who “benefits” from not elevating Mary to the highest rank? Is it the sons of God, or those who will be defeated (Rev 17:6) by Mary and her offspring? Certainly, if the living devotion is taken away from the people of God, to the simple, to the little ones (Mt 16:6) – but I also think of the many who consider themselves intellectuals and theologians, who fail to understand the deception (2Th 2:3) – then surely many will fall into the abyss. What is written in today’s Gospel passage? That the loafer servant will sink into a place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth (Mt 22:13). Metaphor aside, that is hell. Jesus says so.

Continuing to quote from the Sacred Scriptures, there is the “Magnificat”: “The Almighty has done great things in me” (Lk 1:49). As it is written in the Gospel of Luke: “Nothing is impossible with God” (Lk 1:37). But who do you think to be, man, you who want to set limits on God in exalting Mary and praising and honouring Her Grace, having exalted Her “by Grace” alongside the Redeemer? Who are you, man?

Here is the Incarnation, mentioned earlier. Here is what happened at the foot of the Cross, when Jesus entrusted His Mother to His disciple John, His son, who represented humanity at that moment. “Son, behold your mother” (Jn 19:27). He entrusted His Mother to His son so that, holding tightly to the hands of the Mother, that son and all Her sons could attain Salvation (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “The Return of Jesus” 30 Oct. 1994). Here is the Apocalypse mentioned before, in that battle between Good and evil. But we could also quote St. Paul who speaks of the Mystery of Coredemption, speaking of himself in the Letter to the Colossians saying: “I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the Church” (Col 1:24). What is lacking, “I offer to complete it”. Therefore, we are all called to the work of Redemption. Mary is the first, but all God’s sons are called.

Behold! Under the pretext of ‘inopportuneness’, they are swiftly deviating from the sound doctrine.

So, after having proclaimed this Dogma, on 15 May 2022 the Mother Church also proclaimed an Act of Faith, which you all remember, asking all her faithful to perform an Act of Faith (Act of Faith, “Act of Faith to the Father’s Heart through the Heart of Mary”, 15 May 2022). This Act of Faith is important, do not overlook it. Why? Because according to the Doctrine of this Mother Church, it is “necessary” to consecrate ourselves to Mary in order to attain Salvation. This Act of Faith is required, as it has been confirmed in several Acts of Magisterium. I am thinking about the Act of “Consecrating ourselves to Mary is a necessary Act” of 14 October 2024 (Act of Magisterium, “Consecrating ourselves to Mary is a necessary act” ) and I am thinking about the Act “Mary Mother of Christianity” of 31 October 2024, just to mention the most recent ones, where it is written that “Mary is the Alpha of Christianity, for having given the world what the Father had promised. Behold the Beginning, the Culmination, the Fulcrum of Christianity, that living Temple that allowed the Word to come into the world”. It then continues by saying: “In the New Jerusalem, the Word has returned, as He had promised. And here again is Mary, the Omega of Christianity: from where everything began, everything ends, to allow everyone to be immersed in the Heart of the Father, the final destination of the Journey of Salvation. Therefore: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and Mary, the bond between God and humanity, the Expression of the Father’s Love, She who did not keep for Herself the greatest Gift that the Father gave Her but She gave Him to everyone, in the certainty that She would find Him in a multitude, to secure all Her sons for the Father, after having sanctified and purified them in Her Motherly Love. This is the Way of every Christian”, concludes this Act of Magisterium, “to be born of Mary, just as Jesus was born, and to return to Mary, being reborn from Above in the Spirit, and then to find themselves in the Father, in His unique and eternal, pure and holy Goodness, for eternity”. (Act of Magisterium, “Mary Mother of Christendom”, 31 Oct. 2024).

This is the Doctrine of the Mother Church that all of us live together (Acts 2:42).

We want to move forward: “Stay the course and full speed ahead” (The Songs of the New Jerusalem, “Have Courage! It’s Me!” 2025). And we would like to bring all those who love Mary with us. Do not waste time debating what is already established. Debating what is established is a way of making you turn back instead of going forward and is a way of weakening the sons of God. Because Mary is the most powerful weapon there is to defeat the enemy of God: it is written (Rev 12). It will be Mary and her offspring who will crush the ancient serpent: it is written (Gen 3:15).

The role of Mary is all to be discovered and lived in these our times, as St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe said (St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, – Writings – 1937–1941). This is what we want to do: discover it ourselves and to help others to do the same.

This is why the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is necessary for this Mother Church. I tell you, the Mystery of Mary is diriment to achieve Salvation.

Time has no time, and in the Mind of God the Almighty Father, Mary already was. Mary has always been in relationship with the Father. Mary is; in God, with God, and for God. This is more understandable the more there is a strong desire to adhere to the Plan of Love and Redemption of God the Almighty Father to defeat the enemy of God and to grow the Generation of Saints on this Earth who will lead everyone to live Eternity (Act of Magisterium, “The Generation of Saints” 23 Mar. 2025). As Jesus Himself revealed to the Maiden of God, He was the first to consecrate Himself to Mary. Read that Revelation, “Mary, I consecrate myself to You” (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, 10 Mar. 1986).

In this Church, the true worship to the King of kings, the Almighty (Rev 4:8), and of the Grace of Mary, is alive. This is our worship to the “Grace” (Lk 1:28). Everything must be understood in the light of the Grace that the Father reserved and poured out on Mary, who had always been in His Mind. Then She took on flesh, certainly: She became a human being, a creature! Certainly: a creature! But Grace is Grace. Everything passes through Her Heart to be grafted onto the one lush, evergreen, ever-strong Tree, the Tree of Life (Rev 2:7) that has been planted here, in the New Jerusalem (Rev 21:1), and will lead everyone to Salvation.

The Father said to His Maiden: “Warn everyone, make everyone aware of the New Era that is coming” (Revelation of God the Father Almighty to Maria G. Norcia, “Mary the Immaculate dwells in Us” 28 June 1983). Words deliberately forgotten by many, words that are much more alive for those who now inhabit this Land, because the time has passed, and the time has come, when the Era has become real and the world can see and, those who want, can repent, because the Master of the Vineyard has returned (Mt 20:8) and is ready, with His Sickle, to cut the bad weeds and take His Harvest (Rev 14:14-16) because the Wine is ready (Mt 26:29) and the Sun is high (Rev 1:16).

And so be it.
