Gospel: Matthew, chapter 28, verses 16–20
Homily of the Pontiff Samuel
Solemn Feast of the Most Holy Trinity

Mary is the Bond between the Triune God
and humanity that seeks to be holy

(Draft: Automatic Translation)

Great is the Feast we celebrate today, and great is the joy that fills our hearts: the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, and thus of the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, which falls in this final month, dedicated to Mary, the Month of Mary, the day on which the Church celebrates the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Saint Elizabeth (Luke 1:39–56); a Feast within a Feast, where Mary and the Most Holy Trinity are the Protagonists of this day, just as they are, every day, the Protagonists of our lives, of the lives of those who wish to live as true Christians, so that they may be grafted into the Heart of the Most Holy Trinity (Jn 15:4-5) and to be grafted into the Immaculate Heart of Mary; for between the Most Holy Trinity and Mary there is a unique, special bond, an inseparable relationship, because the Mystery is great: the Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is inscrutable and inaccessible, just as in Mary the Divine Mystery is inscrutable and inaccessible.

Behold, dear brothers and sisters, we are on the ‘mountain’ – just as we have heard in this passage of the Gospel – the ‘mountain’ that Jesus appointed for His Friends (Mt 28:16), that ‘mountain’ which we now inhabit, the New Jerusalem (Rev 21:2), Galilee of the nations, where the Most Holy Trinity has established His Dwelling, His Home, and welcomes all those who wish to return Home, to be in the House of the Triune God (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “The Dwelling Established by Jesus”, 09/03/1997). And everyone is invited to climb this “mountain” to contemplate the Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity; a Mystery which, I repeat, is inscrutable and inaccessible to the human mind, but God has given us a Key, “the” Key, to be able to penetrate it, and the Key is called Mary (Act of the Magisterium, “May Jesus bless you, in Mary, with Mary and through Mary”, 01/01/2026). Mystery within the Mystery. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, patience and wisdom are required to penetrate the Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity, beginning first with the Divine Mystery that is in Mary.

Here the Feast of the Visitation helps us in this, helps us on this path, on this Journey, because, at that moment, the Divinity went forth to meet holy humanity (Lk 1:41–43). “Divinity”: Mary, who carries the Divine Word in her Womb, conceived by the Holy Spirit (Lk 1:35), the Word who is one with the Father (Jn 1:1).

Here is the Most Holy Trinity, contained within Mary’s virginal womb, encountering ‘holy humanity’: here is the Forerunner, in the womb of this holy woman, the holiest of those born of woman (Mt 11:11). Here is this encounter. And the moment we allow ourselves to be visited by Mary, Holiness takes hold; the Trinity ‘takes a share’ in that soul so as to sanctify it ever more.

Recite the Gospel we have heard: ‘When they saw him, they fell down before him; yet some doubted’ (Mt 28:17). Well then, dear brothers and sisters, the moment we are called to live the Kingdom, to contemplate the Mystery of the Triune God, to contemplate the Mystery of Mary, we prostrate ourselves and our doubts are dispelled because, for those who wish to live the Kingdom, there must be no room for either doubt or uncertainty (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “The Holy Place of Jesus’ Return”, 19/02/1995; James 1:6–8), but one must approach “with” faith in order to allow oneself to be guided by the Action of the Divine Spirit, take Mary’s hands and let oneself be led to the Heart of the Father so as to be able, with docility, to receive the Divine Doctrine which is revealed to the little ones, to the humble (Lk 10:21), to those who wish to empty themselves of all that is human in order to be filled solely and exclusively with Divinity.

Here is the Work of Mary, who comes to meet and accompany those who, being holy, wish to become ever more holy, to dwell in Him who is. Here is Mary becoming the Bond between Divinity and humanity that wishes to be holy. Here is the Power that the Triune God has conferred upon Mary, She who was the first to allow herself to be visited by God, who was able to take full possession of Her soul.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Mt 28:18), says Jesus in today’s Gospel. Well then, dear brothers and sisters, Jesus wished to give this first Power precisely to Mary, who by grace received this Power and by virtue of this Power can act in its fullness (Lk 1:49). Behold, at the moment when Jesus, before ascending to Heaven, took his leave of that beloved son and of his Mother, he said: “Son, behold your mother” (Jn 19:27). And in this, holy humanity, represented by that son, John, welcomed Mary. But, at the same time, he entrusted Mary to holy humanity, saying: “Woman, behold your son” (Jn 19:26), thus establishing a “relationship of reciprocity” between Mary and holy humanity.

We must start from this understanding in order to then grasp the very same relationship of holy reciprocity that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in turn wished to establish with Mary.

In the Revelation that God the Father wished to bestow upon His Maiden, Mary Giuseppina, the Father says: “Behold, the IMMACULATE ONE, Pure and without blemish, dwells within US. In HER the DIVINE MYSTERY is inscrutable and inaccessible. […] the TRINITARIAN MYSTERY is poured out upon HER: POWER, WISDOM and Divine LOVE” (Revelation of God the Almighty Father to Maria G. Norcia, “The Immaculate dwells in Us”, 28/06/1983).

Here again we see this “Power” that God wished to bestow upon Mary: “Power”, which comes from the Father; “Wisdom”, which comes from the Son; and “Divine Love”, which comes from the Holy Spirit. And so, by virtue of this, the Immaculate One dwells in the Most Holy Trinity.

But at the same time, the Father says: “For, being a creature, she has participated in this MYSTERY OF REDEMPTION; therefore, par excellence, SHE is the Most Exalted One, in whom the whole DIVINITY dwells, being the MOTHER of the Only-Begotten SON and the Sovereign QUEEN of humanity” (Revelation of God the Almighty Father to Maria G. Norcia, “The Immaculate dwells within Us”, 28/06/1983). Here is this relationship which I call “reciprocity”. Why? Because Mary is the Home, the Dwelling-place of the Most Holy Trinity, but at the same time the Most Holy Trinity is the Home, the Dwelling-place of Mary (Jn 14:23).

Moreover, we know that Mary has always been in the Father’s Mind and in relationship with the Father ever since Mary was created, by virtue of the “Mystery of predestination” of which St Paul speaks (Rom 8:29–30). Thus Mary ascended into the Heart of the Son, contained within her Womb, and is the first Creature to have allowed herself to be divinised by the Action of the Holy Spirit, who took full “possession” of her Heart, finding no obstacles to His Action. Whoever allows themselves to be visited by the Holy Spirit, presenting themselves as holy, pure and spotless, permits the Triune God to take full “possession” of their soul.

Once again, in the Revelation mentioned above, the Father says to Mary Giuseppina: “When there is a disposition in a soul, WE come to it, we take everything, for the body is the Living Temple of the HOLY SPIRIT.” (Revelation of God the Father Almighty to Maria G. Norcia, “The Immaculate dwells in Us”, 28/06/1983).

Dear brothers and sisters, this is the path that every creature must follow to become a “child” and allow themselves to be divinised (Jn 1:12), so that the Most Holy Trinity may “take part” in the soul of every child. Otherwise, if the Most Holy Trinity is not allowed to do this, one remains in the human condition and becomes the “possession” of the world, rather than of God. And, indeed, God the Father adds: “If there is no true disposition in a soul, WE cannot take part in it.” (Revelation of God the Almighty Father to Maria G. Norcia, “The Immaculate dwells within Us”, 28/06/1983).

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, by entrusting ourselves to Mary, She who was the first to penetrate the Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity because She lived it, we facilitate the Action of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in “taking part” in the soul of each one.

This is the path to which every soul is called, to become “instruments” of God, “possessed” by God, rather than being possessed by the world. The difference is subtle yet substantial. Those who are ‘possessed’ by God, following Mary’s example, are those who wish to make themselves obedient to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, so as to be ‘holy instruments’ in the hands of the Creator, that the Creator may dispose of each of us as He pleases: this is Mary’s example (Lk 1:38); those, on the other hand, who allow themselves to be possessed by the world, are no longer free to act or to do, because the world subjugates and crushes you, forcing you to do or not to do, to say or not to say, leaving you defenceless and causing you to lose the freedom that can only be preserved and maintained in the Truth, in God (Jn 8:32). Here is the choice: to be ‘instruments’ of God, like Mary, so that the Holy Trinity may visit us and take a ‘share’ in our soul; or to remain ‘possessed’ and held captive by the world, which draws you away from God (1 Jn 2:15–17).

Thus, in Mary, the Divine Mystery is understood ever more deeply because Mary helps us, creatures, to rise up to that Heaven which she was able to contain, expanding her finite Heart, making it infinite so as to contain the Infinite. Behold the Heaven that has stooped down here to be contained in the Heart of this Maiden, Mary, who did not keep Him for Herself, but wished to give Him to all those who, following Her Example, would desire to become “possessed” by the Triune God so that God, “taking part” in the soul of each one, might dispose of us as He desires (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “The Holy Place of Jesus’ Return”, 19/02/1995).

Behold the Plan of Salvation of the Triune God, which reveals and unveils itself to the children who wish to be taught, by virtue of the Power that Jesus has conferred upon His Church: “Go and baptise, go and teach the nations” (Mt 28:19-20) so that all those who wish to hear these teachings may be saved and taught the one Doctrine that saves, that of the Triune God. All the rest will be cut away (Jn 15:2, 6) because they are no longer in communion of heart, soul and spirit with the Son, who is One with the Father, thanks to the Action of the Holy Spirit (Jn 10:30).

Behold, dear brothers and sisters, this is what must be understood, within God’s Economy, regarding the role of Jesus the Redeemer and the role of Mary the Co-Redemptrix (Pontifical Decree, “In Mary, with Mary and through Mary”, 22/12/2019), so that we may all be grafted into the Heart of the Father, who is Life, for from the Heart of the Father Life began and in the Heart of the Father Life will come to rest, so that we may be, in the Only-Begotten Love, “many little Jesuses” and “many little Marys”. And so be it.
