Homily of the Pontiff Samuel
Solemn Feast of Pentecost

The Relationship between
the Divine Spirit and Mary
is at the heart of the Mystery of Salvation

(Draft: Automatic Translation)

“I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever, the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he abides with you and will be in you” (Jn 14:16–17).

Behold the Feast, beloved brothers and sisters, the Feast of the Holy Spirit who dwells among you, who dwells in this House and who will be in each of you all the more as your hearts expand to welcome Him and allow Him to dwell within, so that His Word, which is Truth, may dwell in the hearts of His children and deify them, for the Holy Spirit is Fire, illuminating Fire, purifying Fire, and is a Guide (Acts 2:3) for all those children who allow themselves to be guided so that they may reach eternal Life.

Behold the Action of the Spirit proceeding through History, which in this particular time is manifesting itself, just as it was announced, in due time and within time, by Jesus to His Maiden, when He foretold to Her that this is the Age of the Holy Spirit, but it is also the time of the Most Holy Mary (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “The Holy Spirit”, 13/09/1984). And in saying this, Jesus wished to make clear the inseparable bond that exists between the Holy Spirit and the Most Holy Mary: a unique relationship, an inseparable relationship, a relationship that is decisive for attaining salvation (Lk 1:35).

Only those who immerse themselves in this Pool of the Holy Spirit that is here, to allow themselves to be cleansed, purified and divinised, will be able to understand this Relationship and, reborn from above (Jn 3:7), as pure Spirit, comprehend the Mystery of Mary, the all-beautiful, the all-pure, She who saves, united with the Son; and, taking His Hands, reach the Heart of the Father who is Life.

Behold the Work of the Spirit which in these last days is manifesting itself to lead everyone to Salvation, those ‘everyone’ who are willing to let themselves be led to Salvation. The others will remain outside and will hear the reply: “I do not know you” (Mt 25:12), just as happened to those virgins who wasted time, did not understand “the time” and lost their oil, running out of it (Mt 25:1-13). The “oil” is the Spirit: some preserve it, others run out of it. Those who stock up on it in good time and those who do not.

Blessed are all those who, following Mary, the privileged Way to understand the Spirit, allow themselves to be divinised, just as Mary was the first Creature to allow herself to be divinised by the Holy Spirit, that Spirit who took up permanent residence in Her Heart. Behold Mary, who has ascended into the Heart of the Son, contained within Her Heart.

This is the Way, beloved brothers and sisters, which we are all called to walk, in that Ascent, already here now on this Earth, which leads us to recognise Mary, full of Grace (Lk 1:28), filled with the Holy Spirit, Universal Co-Redemptrix (Pontifical Decree, “In Mary, with Mary and through Mary”, 22/12/2019), as the greatest Gift the Father has given to His children so that they may be saved.

A necessary condition: to consecrate oneself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “Mary, I consecrate myself to You”, 10/03/1986) in order to be saved; a necessary condition: to be able to understand the Bond and the Relationship between Mary and the Holy Spirit in these last days.

Here is the Spirit of Truth whom Jesus promised would come (Jn 16:13) to enable all to be fully rooted in that Plan of Love and Redemption which is Salvation. Whoever wishes to take part, and thus “abide” in that which belongs to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, must be able to immerse themselves in Mary and lose themselves in Her finite Heart which contained the Infinite (Revelation of God the Almighty Father to Maria G. Norcia, “The Immaculate dwells within Us”, 28/06/1983), so that it too may become Infinite.

The Divine Spirit manifests Himself in equal measure in the Heart of Jesus and in the Heart of Mary. Just as that prayer revealed by Jesus to His Maiden teaches us: “Divine Spirit, flood our soul with infinite Love, grant that our heart may always burn with Divine Love, Jesus and Mary” (Booklet “The New Jerusalem, Land of Love”, Divine Spirit). This is Divine Love: Jesus and Mary. It is a Union that no one can sever: two Hearts fused into the one Heart, in the Only-Begotten Love who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Act of the Magisterium, “Just as the Name of Jesus the Redeemer saves, so the Name of Mary the Co-Redemptrix saves”, 12/09/2021). This is Love: Jesus and Mary.

By understanding this, one understands the Action of the Divine Spirit who wishes to ensure that all human beings, from being “beasts”, become divine. Beasts have no soul, but human beings do. If human beings do not nourish their souls with the Divine Spirit, they risk behaving worse than beasts; as everyone can see today, looking up in many countries around the world, where atrocious crimes are committed that make men worse than beasts. Whoever, on the other hand, allows themselves to be divinised by the Action of the Divine Spirit, has already set out on the Path that leads to becoming “many little Jesuses”, “many little Marys”. This is what it means to be divinised.

For this reason, beloved brothers and sisters, in order to be divinised, humanity must look to and imitate Mary; and reach this second and final Grotto, where the Holy Spirit manifests Himself, for there will never be another (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “The Holy Spirit”, 13/09/1984). And in this second and final Grotto, the Little Cradle of the Child Jesus, the Holy Spirit unveils and reveals all.

Thus, upon reaching this place, one imitates Mary, dies to the world and to all that is sin, allows the “self” to die so that in the heart there may be nothing but the Spirit of God (Gal 2:20), for the Little Cradle is filled with the Holy Spirit and whoever approaches it will receive of it according to the disposition of their heart. It is not the Spirit who makes distinctions (Acts 10:34); it is the human heart which, the more it imitates Mary with the virtues that characterise her – Will, Obedience and Faithfulness, above all others – … the more one will be able to live all this.

Here is Will, which leads human beings to desire to be as God is. Here is Obedience, which the Maiden of God embodied in perfection: “Do with me as You please: Your Will be done”, this is what it means to become divine, dear brothers and sisters. And here is Fidelity, another key virtue for understanding Mary, because whoever puts their hand to the plough and wishes to live the Kingdom of God does not wish to look back (Lk 9:62): it is not that one ‘must’ not look back, but that one ‘does not wish’ to, because it is the Will that guides you to be obedient, to be faithful, whatever the cost.

Here is Mary: this is the Example she gives us. Here, in Mary, humanity meets Divinity, for Mary is the first Creature, the Daughter, who, through the Son, the Word incarnate in her Heart (Jn 1:14), allowed herself to be regenerated in the Spirit; therefore, on this Earth we must consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in order to live holiness even now and allow ourselves to be regenerated by the Divine Spirit who is in Mary. Therefore, to be united with Heaven we must be united with the Immaculate Heart of Mary: She who was fashioned by the Father’s Hands; She who has always been in His Mind; She who has been in relationship with the Father since the Father created Her; She who is blessed among all women of every generation (Lk 1:42, 48); so as to be able to live the one and eternal Dimension, that union between Heaven and Earth.

Behold, dear brothers, the Way for every person. And today, in particular, I say: for every Consecrated person. Today, Mother Church celebrates the Day of Christian Ministry, deliberately timed to coincide with and be observed on the day of Pentecost. Why? Because every person consecrated to God, who wishes to live out their Ministry in perfection, must look to Mary and allow themselves to be divinised by the Divine Spirit, embodying these three virtues just mentioned: Will, Obedience and Fidelity, to Mary and, consequently, to Christ.

As I wrote in the Pontifical Decree which established this Day, deliberately set for the Sixth Sunday of Easter, the Sunday of the Gospel of ‘Do you love me?’ (Jn 21:15-17); it is written: “The Consecrated are those who, united by the Love of Christ and consecrated to the Heart of the Father, lead the people along the right Path, towards the full knowledge of who God is, who the Son of God is, and who the living Action of the Holy Spirit is, so as to make them understand what it means to live God, what it means to love God above all things, and what it means to entrust oneself to His Holy Will, in order to fulfil the mission entrusted to them. The Consecrated Person is one who diminishes the ‘self’ so that God may live in fullness in His Essence and Substance.” (Pontifical Decree, “Establishment of the Day of Christian Ministry”, 25/05/2025).

Behold Mary, the Model for all the consecrated, those who must first embody Her Heart and Her virtues, together with every faithful soul, “consecrated” to the Immaculate Heart of Mary—that faithful soul who wishes to be like Mary, to dwell in the Heart of the Son, as Mary does, in the awareness that the Son dwells in the Heart of the Father, being one with Him (Jn 10:30). Consequently, by abiding in the Heart of Mary, one abides in the Heart of the Son, in order to abide in the Heart of the Father.

This is the Path that every man and woman, “Christians” and “Marian devotees”, must follow in order to attain Salvation, to become saints (1 Pet 1:15-16), to turn away from the world which today, more than ever, is full of pride and arrogance, and which lives in true and total disobedience to the Law of God. There is a total dichotomy between those who wish to be Christian and to sanctify themselves, according to the Teachings of Christ, without turning to “fables”, as is taught and practised elsewhere (2 Tim 4:3-4); and those who live in this world – prey to pride and arrogance – who have trampled God’s Law underfoot, enacting laws contrary to the Law of Love, using the word ‘love’ to deceive consciences, proposing a ‘love’ that is the fruit of a humanism empty of God but full of humanity.

This is the challenge of our times, dear brothers and sisters, which the Holy Spirit has taken up and relaunched so that those who wish to be “Christians” and “saints” may remain so, and so that there may be a clear distinction and division between them and those who follow other human philosophies, which are not in communion with the Heart of Christ.

Whoever wishes to be born anew from on high (Jn 3:3), in the Holy Spirit, once again, I repeat, let them consecrate themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Just as Jesus, in another Revelation to His Maiden, teaches us: “Everything must pass through My Mother,” says the Master. Whoever wishes to be consecrated in the Truth in its fullness, let them listen to the Word of God, which is Truth. “Mary, I consecrate myself to You, so that all those whom the Father has entrusted to me, entrusts to me and will entrust to me, may be consecrated in the Truth, that they may participate, in the fullness of it, in the Plan of Love and Redemption, for the glory and honour of the Father” (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, “Mary, I consecrate myself to You”, 10/03/1986). “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (Jn 8:32), says the Master once more. He said this then so that those Words might be fulfilled now.

Anyone who “protestantises”, whilst calling themselves a “Christian”, yet does not recognise Mary, is in error and is not worthy of the Son of God. Anyone who considers themselves to be practising and preaching an “orthodox” faith, yet does not accept that the Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son, is in error, for in the Gospel proclaimed today, Jesus clearly says: “When the Comforter comes, whom ‘I’ will send to you from the Father” (Jn 15:26); it is Jesus who sends Him and, therefore, He proceeds from both the Father and the Son. Anyone who calls themselves “Catholic”, a guardian of Tradition, and does not acknowledge that the Holy Spirit proceeds throughout history, believing Revelation to be closed, is in grave error, and risks not sharing in Salvation, even whilst claiming to love Jesus. All such people will hear the reply, just as the foolish virgins did, “I do not know you”, because if you lose the “oil” – the Holy Spirit who proceeds in history – and are left without it, you are in darkness. Then there are those who, wishing to be ‘modern’ and adapting religion to ‘modernity’, teach things contrary to the Gospel, denying Mary as Co-Redemptrix and teaching and spreading error in the hearts of so many little ones: they will receive a harsh condemnation. As Jesus said then: “You blind guides! You neither enter yourselves nor let those enter who are trying to” (Mt 23:13).

This is the House of Truth, for here dwells the Spirit of Truth who has come down from Heaven. Whoever wishes to remain anchored to the one Truth of the Gospel, let them come here, to plunge into this Pool, the Pool of the Holy Spirit, and be reborn from above, to allow themselves to be cleansed and purified and to experience the lightness of Faith: a light, authentic and holy Faith, so as to be worthy to receive eternal Life as a reward (Rev 2:10).

This is the living, ongoing and vibrant celebration that is experienced in this House today and will always be experienced, in Christ and in Mary. So be it.
