In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Dear brothers and dear sisters, great is the Feast we celebrate today: the Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus. Jesus goes up the Holy Mountain to pray and suddenly, by the Father’s will, manifests Himself to humankind in His Divine nature. The eyes of flesh of Peter, James and John are able to see and contemplate Jesus-God, through the special grace granted them by the Father. Not just Jesus-Man, true Man; Brother, true Brother; Friend, true Friend, who daily walks with His friends; but Jesus-God, the Son of the living God, the Only-Begotten Son generated by the Father before time was; Jesus, that part of the Father’s Heart who became flesh and came to dwell among us.

Jesus manifests Himself in His white garments blazing of Light, that Light that envelops Him because it belongs to Him, that Light that pierces the veil from the eyes of Peter, James and John and allows them to contemplate the Master in all His essence and substance of true God, who came down from Heaven to make Heaven be lived on this earth by all those who acknowledge Him and want to love Him, follow Him, live Him.

Here is the feast of God’s sons who, in union with Peter, James and John, contemplate their Lord who, transfigured, speaks with Moses and Elijah of the things to come and of what would have happened in Jerusalem, the city that was the symbol and the centre of the Religion of that time.

Moses is the Liberator, the One who frees the chosen people from slavery. Elijah is the One who kills the false priests who have deceived and led the people away from the worship of the true God, bringing everyone back to worship the one God. Here is that their action culminates and is definitively fulfilled in Jesus, He who is the Way, the Truth and Life.

Here is therefore the Spirit of Elijah and Moses proceeding through history to succour, now as then, the sons of God. Here is the Spirit of the only-begotten Son who proceeds throughout history, who leaves the city symbol of the religion of this time, to manifest Himself in the New Jerusalem, on the Holy Mountain chosen by the Father, to definitively free His sons from the slavery of the world and from the deception of those who have betrayed the only-begotten Spirit of Christ in order to worship something else and someone else.

“Rabbi, it is wonderful for us to be here. Let us make three tents, one for You, one for Moses and one for Elijah”. Peter does not quite understand but prophesies about what was to come. This is why he speaks of the three tents:

On this Holy Mountain, the Father has set the Tent where the One and Triune God dwells, together with those who will want to remain faithful to Christ, the One and Triune God: He who is the Way and has led the people on the path of Salvation; He who is Truth and has unmasked the lie of the false priests; He who is Life; He who saves; the Saviour of the world.

Yes brothers, it is wonderful to be here! Come, so to dwell in this holy place! Come, to lighten your innermost being from the burdens of the everyday life that crushes and thus to be able to dwell in the Land where milk and honey flow, embracing this call which is uncomfortable for those who love all that is worldly, but that is regenerating and gratifying for those who love God above all things.

Here, the Father’s presence is tangible. Here, the voice of God speaks to the hearts of His sons who listen to His voice, who listen to the voice of Jesus, the Son of God, the Chosen One. And those who listen to that Voice, treasure it in their hearts, as Peter, James and John did, guarding and preserving everything in their hearts, keeping everything in themselves just as Mary did, She who guarded and treasured everything in Her heart.

Mary! Mary! Mary!

This is the time of the Marian Ascension.

In Mary, with Mary and for Mary, let us enjoy today the Feast of the Transfiguration of Her-and-our Jesus, so that everyone may see and believe that Jesus came down here from Heaven to lead all His sons to the eternal Easter, where death will be defeated forever and the sons of Christ and of Mary will live for eternity. In doing so, we prepare ourselves already from now to live the Feast of feasts, the day of Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, the day on which Mary is Assumed into Heaven in body and soul. Heaven awaits and has been waiting for this day and has celebrated the greatest Feast where everything will be brought to fulfilment, in Christ and in Mary.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
