The martyrdom of the Innocents
united with the Sacrifice of Christ
will save the world

Meditation of the day of Pontiff Samuel

(Draft)

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Dear faithful, on this day the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Innocent Martyrs. All those innocents, little innocents, brutally murdered by king Herod at the time of Jesus.

On this day, along with these martyrs, I would like to bring to memory all the martyrs of Christianity. All those little martyrs who gave their blood and their lives for the love of Jesus, so that the martyrdom of these brothers may remain alive in the heart of us all and in the heart of the Mother Church.

This Church will always love the brothers and sisters who gave their lives for the love of Jesus. Never will this Church drink their blood. But thanks to the blood offered and shed by these brothers and sisters, this Church will all the more ensure that their sacrifice, united to the sacrifice of Jesus, may lead to the final Fulfilment; and may lead the Father to accomplish all that is in His Heart, in order to definitively redeem this humanity and reach the Fulfilment of Peace that is in the Father’s Heart.

So today, in a special way, we commemorate all those little victims caused by human selfishness. We commemorate all those children and innocents who have been abused and violated in their bodies and in their intimacy. We commemorate all those Christians who have been and are persecuted and killed in many countries of the world, just as has happened this Christmas in the massacre of Christians that took place once again in Nigeria and likewise in so many remote villages: all victims of the cruelty of those who, in the name of God, of another god, think to worship him.

You will all live forever in our hearts. This Mother Church will always carry you all in her Heart and your martyrdom will never be in vain.

Brothers and sisters, I ask you today to join my prayer in praying for these brothers, for these sisters, for these children, victims of the violence of man, so that we all, united in the living communion between Heaven and earth, may offer this day to the Father and thus bear fruit for the triumph of Christianity and the triumph of the Plan of Salvation that the Father will bring to completion.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
