“In support of the Christians of Burkina Faso”

The Universal Christian Church of the New Jerusalem expresses her very own closeness through prayer to the Christian Community of the Republic of Burkina Faso for the vile terrorist attacks carried out even today against the Christian population, while a group of faithful were taking the statue of the Most Holy Virgin Mary back to the Church after a procession.

This act of terrorism, carried out by Islamic extremists, follows those of the past months, of which the most recent one of 12 May, when a priest and five Catholic faithful were brutally killed during the celebration of the Sunday mass.

The Universal Christian Church of the New Jerusalem invites all the Christian faithful and all the men and women of good will to pray in defence of the many Christians persecuted in too many countries of the world because of their faith in Christ Jesus, in an climate of almost total and general indifference; and, moreover, invites the international community, the religious confessions and the Christian churches to a synergistic and effective action in order to guarantee the religious freedom in every country of the world, in particular the protection of all persecuted Christian minorities.

God commanded everyone: «Do not kill» (Dt 5:17; Mt 5:21). Therefore, no one is allowed to kill, for all the more reason not in the name of God.
