Meditation of the Day by Pontiff Samuel

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Dear brothers, today we celebrate the birth to Heaven of a great saint, John the Baptist: that great saint who chose to die to the world and to sin, offering his life as a true Martyr, therefore a true Witness of his Jesus.
Today, the example of John is more relevant than ever. In a world where disorder and sin reign, in a world that has discarded the value of fidelity in order to embrace adultery and apostasy, John bursts into history to admonish, by his example of life, many hearts, inviting all to repent, so that many may return to the right Path traced out by the Master: the Path of Love, to God and to our neighbour, that pure and holy Love that gives true joy in Christ and in Mary, that burns away every illusion and all that is worldly and sinful, that burns away all impurity and sets aflame with hope those who, now as then, do not want to surrender to the abuses of the powerful of this iniquitous and evil world, corrupt to the core, that crushes and abuses the little ones and the innocent, whose cry rises to Heaven every day.
No sacrifice will be in vain. No suffering offered with love will be wasted. Everything is contained in the Heart of the Father, who will restore His faithful sons who have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb, loving and persevering until the end; and He will repay by His Merciful Justice all the children of the harlot and all the mighty ones of the world who have fornicated with her.
Therefore, beloved brothers, on the example of John, let us remain steadfast in faith. Never be discouraged in the face of the difficulties and injustices of this world but remain humble and joyful in prayer and in fraternal union, always animated by the joy of meeting Jesus in the Land of Love, who awaits us to restore us with his infinite Love, with his Word that is Life. Here is the true joy, that no one can ever take away from us. That same joy that animated John until the end, in the fulfilment of the promise and in listening to the voice of the Father: “Here is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him“. John listened and believed, making everyone converge towards the Father’s Envoy, towards the Son, the Love made Person. The same did the Handmaid of God, Maria Giuseppina, who listened and believed, paving the way for the ultimate coming of the Lord, who came down from Heaven to give Peace and Love to His faithful sons. As She listened and believed, inviting all to listen and believe, so let us keep listening and staying grafted into Her Motherly Heart, joyfully awaiting the fulfilment of the Father’s promises, never being sidetracked by our everyday life and all that is worldly. Let us remain focused on the Lord’s Word, which is Salvation, so to deserve to receive the prize of eternal joy. That is the only thing that counts in this life. Everything goes by, but God’s Word and His promises will not pass until they are fulfilled. Let us remain in his Love and we shall lack nothing.
