Solemn Feast of Saint Joseph
Meditation of the Day by Pontiff Samuel

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Beloved faithful, today we celebrate our Patron Saint, Joseph. And it is my fervent desire that every faithful member of the Mother Church may love Joseph with true devotion and acknowledge Him as our foremost Patron Saint, the foremost Saint to whom our hearts are devoted.

Joseph is indeed the man chosen directly by God the Father to protect what was and remains most precious to Him: His Son, the very essence of His Heart. Therefore, who could be more worthy of the Father’s trust, and therefore of our devotion, than Joseph?

For this reason, as Pontiff of the Church, I desire that the devotion to Saint Joseph may become the very axis of our lives. Therefore, not merely a saint among many, but ‘THE’ Saint to whom each of us entrusts the care of our lives. Indeed, to love Joseph is to love Mary; and to love Mary is to love Jesus; and to love Jesus is to love God the Almighty Father.

May Saint Joseph guide us each day with his Staff, so that we may fulfil the holy Will of the Father, who has called us by grace to live now what many prophets and saints longed to witness and live. Let us reciprocate the Father’s love through the example of perfect holiness, striving for it every day, praying and loving our brothers and sisters whom the Holy Spirit has placed alongside us, embodying the virtues of obedience, purity and humility as Saint Joseph did in perfection.

Beloved brothers, the time has come to offer God all that we can, generously and unconditionally. United with Saint Joseph and sustained by his example, with living faith, let us pray to the Father, saying: “To You, my Lord, I offer my life and my daily existence. Let me share in Your Love so that I may triumph in Your Name”.

The world is in agony because humanity has strayed away from God and His Commandments. Apostasy is spreading like a plague amongst mankind, and few are those who keep alive the memory of the Sacrifice and Passion of the Son of God, who laid down His Life for our Salvation.

The Wrath of the Father looms over a world fallen into iniquity and perversion. On the moment when Saint Joseph strikes the ground with his staff, this earth will be shaken and all will feel the consequences of the Action of Joseph’s Staff.

Beloved brothers, let us give Joseph all the love we can, offering him every sacrifice and every suffering, every prayer and every tribute of praise, so that Saint Joseph, in union with Mary, may intercede before the Almighty Father, that He may grant His Grace and His Divine Mercy to His faithful sons and to all the people of goodwill, to finally render Justice to the righteous, to the little ones, to the innocent, to all those who have suffered far too long under the wickedness and selfishness of their persecutors.

Praise and honour to you, Glorious Saint Joseph, Patron Saint of the Universal Church and Patron Saint of every family; Guardian of the Holy Family, Guardian of the Little Cradle and Guardian of Christianity.

With your Staff, go forth and conquer, to lead us, your sons, to victory.

Glorious Saint Joseph, help us, so that the Child Jesus may win and triumph.
