In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Dear brothers, dear sisters, on this second Friday of Lent we continue our meditation on the five holy wounds of Jesus.
Today we contemplate the wound of Jesus’ left hand, that of the heart. And we offer our prayers and all our devotion, sacrifices and sufferings for the young people and for all those who are young at heart, so that, on the example of the young Man Jesus, every young person may conquer the world, following His example.
Dear young people, never forget that your Friend Jesus will never abandon you. Never forget how great His love is for you. He has great confidence in you. The heart of our Friend and Brother Jesus doesn’t stop and will never stop beating for you. Open, indeed open your hearts wide to Jesus, our eternal victory, so to not be subjected to the world, to its logic and its compromises: be you to subdue the world, to renew the world, in the Love of Christ, He who conquered the world.
Do not be deceived by him who teaches that Jesus was defeated on the Cross. Do not be deceived by him who teaches that Jesus was defiled or that Jesus made Himself sin. Do not be deceived by him who says that the Via Crucis is the history of God’s defeat. God has won: Jesus, the Holy of Holies. Be you holy, as Jesus is Holy. Overcome sin with the power of prayer and brotherhood, with the power of the holy friendship that must be fostered and lived from childhood so it may last for a lifetime. Whoever finds a friend finds a treasure, they say. Here we have found the Treasure of treasures, the Friend of friends: Jesus, our Friend, our Brother, our Treasure, our everything.
Be you the enthusiasm of the world: that lively enthusiasm that many no longer know; that lively enthusiasm that only Christ’s peace can give to human hearts allowing them to live life fully in every aspect, that aspect that will make of you true worshipers in Spirit and Truth.
«Praise and honour to You, Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords. In honour of the holy wound of your left hand we offer You our prayers, all our sacrifices and acts of Christian charity. On this day, for the holy wound of your left hand, we ask You to protect and grant victory to every young person who trusts in your heart and to every young person who, on your example, wants to live eternal youth, conquering the world with the weapons of love and peace, joy and sincerity, friendship and brotherhood, harmony and loyalty, overcoming death to rise again and live for eternity. Oh our sweet Jesus, do not let your sacrifice and your pain, the pain you offered for our love, be in vain. Grant that all the young people who today meditate and offer their life and their daily existence for the holy wound of your left hand, be renewed and cleansed in their heart and soul, in their mind and spirit, to love You and always to be faithful to You, just as Mary, your and our Mother, has always been faithful to You, just as You have been and will always be faithful to the Holy Father, so to be able to do His will, now and forever, as in Heaven so on Earth. And so be it».
