Gospel: John, Chapter 14, verses 1-21
Homily of the Pontiff Samuel
Solemn Feast of the Christian Faith

Here is the Place promised by Jesus
to preserve the Christian faith

(Draft)

Great is the feast and great is the joy that pervades our hearts today upon which we place the Christian Faith at the centre. Today, on the last Sunday of October, the Mother Church celebrates the Feast of the Christian Faith (Pontifical Decree, ‘Establishment of the Solemn Feast of the Christian Faith, 1 Nov. 2023), the Feast of Authentic Faith (‘Act of Magisterium, “The Christian Faith”, 27 Oct. 2024), so that all those who love the Faith may once again place it at the centre of their lives on this day, to bring everything to fulfilment.

The page of the Gospel we have read today, a rich and deep page, allows us to be immersed in the Mystery of Faith, in the Mystery of the One and Triune God (Mt 28:19). Here is Jesus speaking to our hearts, saying: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me” (Jn 14:1). Here is Jesus who comes to the aid of His sons to remove all disquiet from their hearts, so that faith may prevail over the anxieties of daily life and the anxieties of a world that is in distress and can no longer find the thread to unravel the tangle because it has lost its way (Mt 13:22). Why? Because it has lost the faith, and this is dragging this world further downwards, beyond the apparent tranquillity that now seems to be in some places: it is only apparent.

Only the faith in Christ can give true Peace to this world. Jesus speaks to us so that we may understand the heart of the Christian Faith, the heart of our daily efforts to achieve Peace, to live Love, to live that harmony among brothers and sisters that was in the Father’s Mind when He created the world (Gen 1:31).

Here is the promise that the Father, together with Jesus, in that union that unites Jesus and the Father in totality, addresses to us in this page of the Gospel: ‘I am going to prepare a place for you. When I have gone, I will come back and take you with me, so that you may be where I am’ (Jn 14:2-3). This is the heart of the Revelation: Jesus does not leave His sons as orphans, but promises them that He will go to the Father to prepare a place for them, ‘the’ Place, the Fulfilment of the Scriptures (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, ‘The Holy Place of Jesus’ Return, 19 Feb. 1995), the Fulfilment of Salvation. Although those first brothers would have wanted to go along with Jesus to the place He had prepared, they couldn’t go with Him. ‘Now you cannot come, but when I have prepared a place for you and when I have returned, I will take you with me’ (Jn 14:3).

Behold, all things have been accomplished. Jesus has kept His promise, He ascended to the Father, He ascended to Heaven, He opened the Gates of Paradise and then, at the time appointed by the Father, He has returned as announced in the Acts of the Apostles: ‘Now you see me ascending on a cloud: the same way you see me ascend, you will see me return’. Acts 1:11. Even this promise has been kept. In this way Jesus returned, on a cloud. Everything has been accomplished, everything has been fulfilled, every promise (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, ‘The Ascent to Heaven, 13 Apr. 1995). And when Jesus returned, those first Friends, united with the Saints and Martyrs of Christianity, they too partook and now live the Place (Rev 21:3-4).

Here is the union of the Triumphant Church with the Militant Church, in a single union of Heaven and Earth (Act of Magisterium, ‘One is the Message, One is the Mandate, One is the Mission on Which the militant and triumphant Church of Christ rests, 27 Feb. 2025), the New Jerusalem, Corner of Heaven on Earth, Metaphysical Place of the Fulfilment of God’s Promises.

This is the Christian Faith being realised in the fulfilment of Christ’s promises. Therefore, I say to many: Salvation comes through Jesus. However, in order to be saved today, it is necessary to believe in the Place and come to this Place that Jesus has prepared for His sons (Revelation of Jesus to Mary G. Norcia, ‘The Return of Jesus, 30 Oct 1994) because it is essential to participate in the Fulfilment of Salvation (Phil 2:12), living and believing in the Place prepared by Jesus for the final Fulfilment. This is the New Jerusalem, I say again, the metaphysical Place of the Fulfilment of Christ’s promises (Rev 21:2).

Those who consider the New Jerusalem to be doctrinally unacceptable will not be able to take their seat and live in ‘the’ Place that the Father has assigned to His sons, and will be cast into Gehenna, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Mt 25:30). This is the destiny of those who, as blind guides, have set themselves up as teachers, thereby plunging into the abyss, themselves and many little ones who, believing and wanting to follow them, have embarked on a path that is not the way of Salvation. Their guilt is grave. ‘Blind guides’ (Mt 23:24), said Jesus at that time of those who claimed themselves to be teachers as well and discarded the cornerstone (Mt 21:42) set by the Father at that time so that all might believe and be saved (Act of Magisterium, ‘The Communion in the one faith: Christ, 11 May 2025). History repeats itself!

Thus, these words are perfectly fulfilled, so that the Christian faith may remain pure and authentic (1Tm 1:5). Many today would like to water down the Christian faith by no longer teaching that Jesus is the only Saviour, – at times saying it in words and in others not even that -, but in deeds joining in prayers where they no longer pray only to Jesus, but where everyone is allowed to pray to their own god, because in every religion there is, according to them, the wise will of God (Dt 13:1-4).

This is not true. There is only one Saviour, now as then. And the Saviour chose the Place, revealing It to His sons, so that His sons, seeing Him as a Child and recognising Him in that image, would not be deceived, so as not to recognise the deception too late. Blessed are those who timely recognised the Triune God in the image of the Child Jesus, who descended to this Place, to this Land (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, ‘The Dwelling Place established by Jesus, 9/03/1997) to gather all His sons to Himself and preserve them and preserve the authentic Christian Faith (1 Tim 6:12).

Here is the Feast of the Christian Faith, which we now put back at the centre so that the Faith may be preserved in its authenticity (first aim) and, above all, brought to fulfilment (second aim).

This is why so many Christians (and I am thinking of those who consider themselves guardians of tradition, who call themselves “traditionalists”), who have recognised the deception of those who have usurped the home of Christians – which is no longer a home – and who seek to elevate and distinguish themselves in order to show that the truth continues within them, well, to them I say, to you I say: if you do not acknowledge this Place that the Father has chosen, keeping the promise of His Son, you will not be saved either, because you must keep pace with Jesus’ time, not proceed at your own slow pace. Everyone must follow the pace of the Master (Jn 13:13-15), of the Holy Spirit, of the Comforter whom Jesus mentions again in this passage, having promised that He would have sent another Comforter, another One, the Spirit of Truth whom the world does not know, but whom the sons of God know well because He dwells in them, He is with them (Jn 14:17).

We must keep pace with Jesus, with the Holy Spirit (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, ‘The Holy Spirit, 13 Sept. 1984). Far be it from teaching that the Holy Spirit revealed at that time all that He had to reveal and that His Action has ceased. Those who walk too slowly will exhaust themselves and wait in vain for the Comforter, the Return of the Lord (Mt 24:42-44). And when the Roman house has collapsed and the rubble has overwhelmed so many, then to whom will they turn? Who will they blame? God? God acted through time and betimes. It is necessary to keep pace with God.

That is why the time has come, and it is now, when those who want to preserve the Christian Faith must approach this Place, this Venue, recognising It as the Place that Jesus wanted to give to the whole world in order to preserve the authentic Faith and to grant Salvation (Mt 24:13).

Dear brothers, this is the truth that we proclaim and will always proclaim from this Church, just as the Maiden of God did, She who was not afraid to proclaim the New Jerusalem (Rev 21:2), the fulfilment of the Scriptures, the Place of the Return of Jesus. How was She treated, how was Her announcement accepted?

I say to all the many who wish to remain Christians, that it is time for a change of pace. And to many others, I think of the little and the least ones, those who have been rejected by everything and everyone, I say to you: come, Jesus welcomes you here (Revelation of Jesus to Maria G. Norcia, ‘The greatest Sacrarium there is’ 29 Sept. 1986); come, here the Master will quench your thirst and feed you with His Water, the Source of eternal Life, and with His Bread, the living Bread descended from Heaven (Jn 6:51). This is the reason why Jesus came down in the form of a Child, because He wants us all to be like children, He wants our hearts to be like those of little children (Mt 18:3-4), so that we can proclaim to everyone and live a candid faith, just as we lived yesterday in that celebration dedicated to the children who are before me and are alive in God, dressed with their little white gowns, with their candour, with their purity. This is the garment we must all wear: the garment of the heart that we must keep pure and holy just as the heart itself must be kept pure and holy, like children, because theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven (Mt 19:14). And children welcome what the Father gives them and what the Mother gives them.

Behold the Father who is in the Son and the Son who is in the Father. This page we have just read is of profound revelation, where the Trinitarian Mystery is revealed in the union between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, that Comforter. ‘I am the way, the truth and life’ (Jn 14:6), Jesus said to Thomas. You know the Way. Do you know me, Thomas? You know that Path. Now I will send the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, so that you may know the Truth and so that I, united with the Father, may give you Life, true Life, so that Faith may be preserved in its authenticity.

And those who want to be faithful must conform to Mary, She who is faithful (Lk 1:38), the faithful Mother of Her sons, She who embodied the authentic Christian Faith in perfection. Hold tightly to Mary’s hands, so that She may guide us in this last mile remained in doing the Father’s Will to the fullest. To the Father, we give thanks today for having given us this Church, for giving us all these Feasts that gush forth from His Heart, so that the Christian Faith may remain as such and be brought to fulfilment: may it remain so, preserved from ugliness, from those who would water it down and debase it (think of the first aim), but bring it to fulfilment (look back at the second aim), keeping pace with God and not with the slow pace of man who is entangled in a tradition that is not to be abolished but must be brought to fulfilment if we want to be saved (Mt 7:21). Otherwise, one will remain stranded and overwhelmed by the wave that will sweep away the house in ruins (Rev 18:4).

Let us entrust ourselves to Mary, our good and tender Mother. Let us follow the example of Maria Giuseppina, our good and tender Mother (Magisterium Act, ‘Maria G. Norcia, 21 Jan. 2019). She has been a good and tender Mother for us: good, because with Her Heart She has welcomed us, bringing us back to Jesus, the only Saviour (Acts 4:12); tender, because Her tenderness, Her sweetness has conquered our hearts. And it is thanks to Her that we are here today as a Church. And it is thanks to Her that the purity of Faith in Jesus is preserved today.

To You, Mother, our thanks, the living gratitude of your sons. Keep us in Your Love. Preserve this holy people from all evil. Intercede with the Father so that He may grant us every physical and spiritual grace, so that we may once again say: “If you do not believe in my words, at least believe because of the works” (Jn 14:11).

And so be it.
